UNIT 3. WORLD PROJECT

Hi kids!!

If you want an extra-point in this unit, you can carry out obe of these option:

OPTION 1. Let's make a globe

You need:

• A balloon 
• String
• Glue and water
• Newspaper
• Blue and green paint
• Continents template and labels

Steps:

1. Inflate the balloon and tie the string to the knot.
2. Paper mache the balloon. 
3. Paint it blue because it's      the ocean.
4. Colour the continents and glue them to the globe.
5. Label the continents.


OPTION 2. Let's make a world map.

You need:

• A blue cardboard
• A glue stick
• Colours
• Continents template and labels

Steps:

1. Colour the continents template.
2. Cut them out and stick them on the cardboard.
3. Label the continents.

UNIT 2. THE SOLAR SYSTEM

Hello kids!

This unit we are going to study the amazing Solar System. You already know the name of the eight planets in Spanish, but now it's time to learn them in English. The following video will help you:

Every planet in the Solar System moves in two ways: rotation and revolution. 

- The Earth's movement on its axis is called rotation and it causes day and night.

- The Earth's movement aroun the Sun is named revolution and it causes the four seasons.

The Moon also moves on its axis (rotation) and around our planet (revolution). As consequence, the Moon changes its shape (phases of the Moon). 

The Earth has different layers: the core, the mantle, and the crust.

¡Hola a todos!

En Ciencias Sociales estamos trabajando la unidad del tiempo atmosférico (unidad 3 del libro). Algunos de los términos son conocidos, pero otros son nuevos.

Primero, os dejo la presentación que usamos en clase para repasar. Es una buena herramienta para repasar en casa.

El primer vídeo tiene audio, y el segundo no].

Aquí tenéis unos vídeos sobre el tema. El primero es una canción sobre el tiempo atmosférico y el segundo explica las diferencias entre el tiempo y el clima (el nivel es alto, pero creo que lo explica muy bien).

Por último, podéis repasar y mejorar el vocabulario más destacado jugando:

- Juego de mesa (estilo oca, pero con piratas y preguntas cortas).

- Juego de memoria (en el que hay que unir imágenes y palabras).
